Pros

The product we sell works, our customers love it, and it's leading in almost every segment it plays in. Some of the smartest people I've ever met working in technology. The corporate leadership has stepped up (under John Donahoe's guidance) and has created a dynamic, inclusive, world-class company that treats it's employees with the highest degree of respect...all while encouraging us to have fun and enjoy the work we do. Lot's of promotions from within, really feels like a solid career path is available for those that want it.

Cons

Rapid growth company carries rapid growth challenges. This isn't a place to identify problems and walk away....there are a LOT of problems...the challenge is solving them while doing your job or understanding that things are still growing and people are still learning. Cross-Functional success is often boiled down to who you know and how willing they are to help you. That can be incredibly deflating at times.

Pros

ServiceNow had a differentiated platform and products. Early on the culture had a startup energy that was rare for a company this size collaborative teams, ownership, and a sense that people actually cared about outcomes. Working with large enterprise customers on complex workflows was interesting work.

Cons

The ServiceNow I joined was a different company. As headcount increased, so did the bureaucracy, layers, and friction that rewarded politics over execution. The layoffs of the last few years were handled poorly little transparency, inconsistent communication, and decisions that felt made far above with little thought for the people affected. The "cost optimization" messaging rang hollow against continued executive spending. For a company that sells workflow and people process tools, the irony of a chaotic RIF wasn't lost on anyone in the field or on customers. Leadership political dynamics were real. The right team, the right manager you had cover. Performance alone didn't protect you.
