Synopsys is a good relatively stable software company, but they discriminate against workers over 55 - Staff Software Engineer Synopsys Employee Review

Synopsys lays off a large number of workers over 55. Since I have worked there over 3/4 of the people I know over 55 have either been laid off or encouraged to retire. If you are not at a director level when you reach 55, they don't want you. They also have too many reorganizations. Schedules are dictated top down, rather then written bottom up. Management has a tendency to overestimate the complexity of simple projects and underestimate the complexity of large projects.
