Pros
5+ years ago Tableau used to be the best place to work on the planet (or at least it felt that way). Despite the struggle in recent years due to insane competition and general saturation of the market, the culture kept most people there. There’s been (and continues to be) huge turnover, but there still is a core of decent folk in the business. Salesforce offer some great benefits and generally treat their staff well. Some of these don’t currently filter down to Tableau though.
Cons
No clear direction since the takeover. Targets and expectations have been hiked right up but there’s no clear strategy around how the business will address the significant challenges it’s facing. Management appear desperate and don’t seem to have any answers other than cracking the whip. Most of the best people have left or are on their way out. Not many people see a long term future in the business and there’s a general negative vibe. This is really damaging the culture. You’re not likely to make target or even come close to it unless you’re exceptionally lucky with the patch you get given.
