Pros

1. Job security. 2. Enough projects for you to move into if you are not satisfied with the current project. 3. The company is so big that if you have any personal conflicts with your current management or colleagues you dont have to leave the company, instead you can just take a release from the account and move to a different project where you dont have to interact with your old colleagues . It will be lime moving to a different company itself.

Cons

1. Very less salary hike 2. No respect for the existing employees. Sometimes i feel if they even consider us humans. 3. Management mind set is medieval. No knowledge of how to adapt to the changing work culture. 4. Youngsters want flexible working and flexible dress code, but HR is not willing to relax even a bit. I dont understand why dress code matters anymore at offshore. We are not facing clients directly. 5. Some managers are so busy they dont have time to listen to their team members concerns. 6. A work from home request or a transfer request can take ages to get a reply on. It feels it is easier to leave the company and look outside for what you want. 7. They are too big, they dont care for what the employees go through. If one employee goes they will get another. So .... 8. In the pros I mentioned that you can take a release and move into another project if you dont like the current project but it takes ages to get a release. We have to actually stop working and fight with the management so that they will release us. And in the process they will give us a C Band.

Pros

Large client base. Talented people, have "cracked the code" on offshoring development and support.

Cons

For anyone used to working in US-based firms, the culture and politics will be difficult to understand and navigate. Internal policies and systems focus on the offshore delivery center model. Roles in the US do not fit into that mold, and obtaining approvals for simple expenses can require weeks and insanely high approval chains given the size of TCS. I needed approval from a global division head (a CEO direct-report) just to pay for a short training course. Missions of different departments are not clearly defined, so overlap and conflict are common.
