It's an old school company with lots of legacy which can mean baggage. There's a ongoing re-org being orchestrated by a couple of big management consulting houses and they are doing the best they can to nudge the culture and mindset of the company to be more current. There's no lack of enthusiasm for the "new" company to emerge from the ashes but it's an ongoing challenge to realize that vision.
