A good retail-based job for early workers, young adults, or college students. - Sales Associate The UPS Store Employee Review

Pros

If you are a young adult looking for a retail job that has more importance and requires more acquired knowledge, then The UPS Store is a good start. You interact with 20-100 people on a daily basis and handle everything from domestic and international shipping, to intricate packaging and print center tasks.

Cons

Like any retail job, the day can become incredibly boring. This isn't a negative to The UPS Store but to any job that requires maintaining a sales floor for extended hours. The pay doesn't progress too much since it is a first-time-job-esque occupation, but if you work hard for a couple years then you can make a manager position. Benefits aren't applicable unless you work full-time and for over a year.

Pros

Due to understaffing, certain staff gets more hours. Decent enough pay compared to other companies, if you're patient enough (several years later) you can finally move up. You'll do decently if you're put under a decent manager.

Cons

Always understaffed and managers say we are "overstaffed", managers can influence raises to some degree by what they say and their employee biases, etc.
