Pros
• clean & organized • got 3 raises within a few months • commissions add up • recurring customers were often nice • store owner defends employees against abusive customers • opportunity to become a notary (paid for with exceptions)
Cons
• single-coverage during busy hours (sometimes had customers waiting in line over 20 minutes creating a stressful environment for everyone involved) • very entitled and rude customers in a wealthier part of los angeles • since it's a franchise, the overall atmosphere depends on the store owner... - the store owner & manager were in a relationship so it was uncomfortable sometimes • always worked weekends without many exceptions. the work schedule was never flexible because the store owner decides it • manager made a few racist and xenophobic remarks • bad communication, immature and unprofessional at times • honestly kind of a boring, dead end job. no room for growth • no benefits
