Pros

If you can not find anything else. Its ok to go there till you get a job in real Bio-tech with real mission. They have good benefits, but Vac is below Bio_tech std. CEO is nice and smart, but I'm puzzeled, why they fail in leadership. You will find good/great employees poor leaders. Maybe he is herding cats all day.

Cons

No real mission or science. You did not pass P-chem or went to good Business schools to work here. Its 90% about low cost manufacturing of consumables with low margin and 10% Science. If you like to work for Kmart/office-max you love it here. Its all about pedeling 1000's of SKUs. Not in same level at all with pharma and Bio-pharma. High turnover, some depts as high as 20%. HR is even week, high turnover even in HR. Comp. can not find focus, continuously reorg. Re-Org fatigue is common. Closing sites and moving product lines often. Due to lack of vision and mature leadership, they only focus on cost cutting and M&A, which both are easy and most companies can do on drop of the hat. They fail in real leadership which is Inovation, organic growth, trend setter, game changer, best place to work, and emloyee empowerment. You have to go to Genentech/Amgen to see that. They have problem with letting go incompetent leaders and staff. Therefore the good ones take off sooner or later.

Pros

If you're stuck in the Greenville area for some unfortunate reason, it's a job.

Cons

This place is functionally a mafia. The same rotating cast of "old head" people that have been at the site for decades watches each other's backs, and overworks everyone else. God help you if you're actually capable or smart, because they will overload you as much as possible, while ensuring that they, and their pals, do as little as possible. They really have no concept of capacity management at all. There is no math, metrics, or even mild logic that goes in to how they define R&R or distribute work. No one really knows how to do anything at all. Things that sound simple, like shipping a sample for instance.. Well, clear your afternoon. It doesn't help that all of their systems are completely antiquated. I should also note that you won't get any support on anything really, from training to execution. No one wants to be here, and it's so obvious. The place looks and feels like a prison because it is. It doesn't even pay that well compared to other pharma companies! That barbed wire isn't there to keep people out, it's to keep them in.
