UBS is a relatively decent place to work; although continuous layoffs decrease morale. - Project Manager UBS Employee Review

Pros

- Before this bad economy, you had tremendous promotional opportunities available to you. - Management keeps you informed on what is going on in the company from a "big picture" perspective. - The people you work with are usually very nice.

Cons

- Negotiate a good salary when you join UBS because they rarely give raises or reward good work. - Performance reviews are sometimes "fixed" - meaning many managers are told by upper management to give a lower or higher review so that they can justify the compensation or bonus they give you. I know this from personal experience as a manager. - Work/life balance is not always good - it really depends on the position you are in. - Training is selectively encouraged - meaning some managers will fight for you to update your skills and others just want to cut costs and don't encourage it. - Sometimes there is too much favoritism that goes on--it depends on the manager. - When you receive a promotion at UBS, a raise rarely accompanies that promotion.
