Pros

The USNR offer a great health care package with competitive pay for just two days at month and two annual training week a year. They also offer further training in medical specialties such as X-Ray and Bio-Med Technician that could be use in the civilian sector. They are other oportunities for short term jobs as well. Really satisfy with my experience in the USNR and I been able to travel for work to really interesting places.

Cons

Work is only in the assign weekend, could impact family life at times. The annual training is not entirely in your schedule and flexibility is needed to meet this requirement. I also will like to mention that the annual training is mandatory although waivers are allow for special reason. And the number one con is that there is a possibility of deployment to dangerous places since you are part of the USN.

Pros

It is what you make out of it. You'll have good days and bad days. It's all dependent on your leadership. That can make or break the command. Medical is free, but can take a while to get seen. You'll meet a lot of new people and could travel around the world depending on your duty station. Education benefits and training.

Cons

Medical can take a while to get seen, unless it's an emergency. If you're single, the pay isn't that great, but you don't have to much to worry about for bills if you live on base. If you're on sea duty billet, your work life balance will be terrible.
