Pros

-Pay check arrives on the 1st and 15th of every month -Free food -Free housing -Free medical/dental

Cons

-Seeing how badly your pay is messed up on the 1st and 15th of every month -Sometimes waiting in line for an hour or more each meal, food is frequently burnt or still frozen, some of the boxes read "Not for human consumption. For institutional and military use only" -Military housing is great, especially when drunk servicemembers pull the fire alarms at least once a night on weekends and occasionally on weekdays too. -Medical care includes motrin and mucinex, and not much else. Being stuck on a ship sick for months was loads of fun.

Pros

It is what you make out of it. You'll have good days and bad days. It's all dependent on your leadership. That can make or break the command. Medical is free, but can take a while to get seen. You'll meet a lot of new people and could travel around the world depending on your duty station. Education benefits and training.

Cons

Medical can take a while to get seen, unless it's an emergency. If you're single, the pay isn't that great, but you don't have to much to worry about for bills if you live on base. If you're on sea duty billet, your work life balance will be terrible.
