Pros

1. Best product in the market. It is such a joy to sell or promote a product that is considered the best in the market! It makes you feel that what you do is right and ethical and you are indeed offering the best solution to your customers and you dont need any tricks or manipulation. 2. Strong mid-management team. In my area (marketing, sales and business development) we have one of the strongest teams in whole IT industry. They are both keen to learn and to teach and they help their teams develop. Might not be 100% of the cases but still this is a majority. 3. Innovation. Veeam is a company that is embacing change in the way we do things and is open to process improvement suggestions. Innovate&iterate is one of companies core values. So working here will sometimes be stressful but at the same time you wont get bored and you'll increase your best practices knowledge and skill set big time. Other companies are litelly hunting for experienced Veeam employees, it is a quality standard. 4. Great positioning in the market. Product portfolio, pricing, roadmap and etc. are aligned with market trends and expectations so you dont need to be inventive to present the solution. It is all there for you to take and use, no matter if you are talking to a customer, a partner or another technology vendor.

Cons

1. Change management. Company is now going through a massive transformation and no trasformation comes easy. Old processes are discontinued, new processes are not yet ideal so sometimes you bump into things that are controvercial or just temporary and this doesn't help in getting things done. 2. Trust and balance of power. Veeam used to be a true democracy where C-Level executives were listening to and providing feedback from and to all levels of the organisation. Goals and challenges were known to all employees and everyone felt the need to deliver best performance as it was serving the greater goals and fixing global issues of the organisation. Nowadays there's LT and there's everyone else and these worlds dont mix in any occasions so you no longer percieve companies goals and problems as yours. 3. Cutting costs. For over 10 years Veeam used to be a company where growing targets were backed up by growing budgets and headcounts. And this led to double-digit growth for 10 consecutive years, from startup mode to a leader in the market. With new company ownership and plans for IPO a completely different set of metrics came to play and new moto is 'Do more with less' which led to first layoffs in company's history and budgets shrinking YoY. It's a norm in the market but was quite painfull to experience it for the first time.

Pros

- Friendly teammates that are willing to help

Cons

Where to begin? - Since starting at Veeam, the internal IT Support team has been cut to a THIRD of it's original size. From an original team of 10+ people, only 3 of the core team remain. Three USA members are left to support over 2,000+ USA employees and try to solve the flood of tickets that arrive in the ServiceDesk queue. - These last layoffs which I was a part of, 1 desktop support engineer, 1 support manager and myself were laid off. - My role was replaced by TWO other service desk analysts in Costa Rica that are getting paid pennies. Both of them combined make less than the salary I had. - Veeam is trying to cut costs anywhere they can, all while making record profits - Technology leadership doesn't listen to input from lower level management on pain points or suggestions on how to improve work-flow or help out the internal IT team - US-based IT employees never received any promotions. All employee promotions from the global IT team happened in Prague / Bucharest offices. - Absolutely no room for career advancement. Managers don't support growth. They silo you into a specific role and work you like a horse.
