Pros
Excellent co-workers in mid-management; outstanding leaders in top management of the company who have--within the past year--embraced the value of bringing in outside leaders from companies other than the pharmacy field/market space.
Cons
My manager "conned" two others and me (I found out 6 months after accepting the position) by stating, "Wow . . . with your experience and background, you should be hired in at the director level. We are currently undergoing reviews of salary and position responsibilities. So, if you came in at a Senior Manager level, we may very well be upgrading the position to a director level within a few weeks. So would this interest you?" The upgrade never happened; and, further, in checking with others in the department, they have remained at their same level for over 5 years even after delivering stellar work products and team leadership. There are no bonuses; and, working 50 - 60+ hours per week is the norm for managers.
