Pros

* If you are in a good team with a good boss, it can be a decent place to work. You've got to be very careful with that "if" though - not all teams or bosses there are created equal. * It's still possible to have work-life balance there, especially if you are not in one of the teams supporting customer-facing apps.

Cons

* Way too much consensus decision making. It takes forever for decisions to be made there. * Politically charged culture. It's all smiles and friendly handshakes on the surface, but if you're not on guard, they will run a bayonet through you at the least expected moment. * Contractors here are generally treated as second-class citizens. * If you are stuck with a bad boss or bad team, start looking. When I was brought on board, I discovered that the boss wanted me to use "process" to micromanage his team for him while he played Walmart politics. Meanwhile, his team was telling me how much they hated process. This was a situation that was set up to fail, and made worse when my boss started micromanaging me. I put up with a lot of guff from him, including numerous times when he would belittle me in front of his team, before he summarily dumped me by way of my agency. He was too much of a jerk to have that final "we're done here" meeting with me.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. I am happy to hear you were able to maintain a work life balance while working with us. We strongly believe in acting with integrity by being not only honest but also fair with each individual. It concerns me to see some of the other feedback you mentioned. I personally believe culture is one of the areas that has helped progress us forward. We want everyone to feel welcomed and treated fairly. If there are politics in the office, we work to address it as soon as possible. Regarding the time line of decisions, we strive to make changes and decisions as quick as possible, but there are times when we do have to take a step back and re-evaluate our situation. I also want to assure you we hold all of our leadership team to high expectations and they are to treat each associate with respect by listening, leading by example, and being inclusive. If you have more details on these specific topics you would like to share, please reach out to me. - Becky S.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
