Pros

They started me off at 15.40 because of my previous experience and I didn't even interview. They called me the day after I completed my application on Walmart.com and asked me to adjust my available hours and told me where they wanted to put me. I should also mention the Walmart that called me wasn't the one I applied to. It was the one across town. I accepted and went in for orientation the next week. They got me all squared away with the other applicants and we started our training video's. They told me people usually take a day and a half doing company required training before they get to start in the department they were hired for. From the moment I walked in I defiantly did feel replaceable. I plan on updating my experience her as time goes on. Before working at Walmart, I had never worked for a big retail giant like this. That being said I'm interested in seeing how the company works, The Insurance they offer, how they treat their employees, how you can move up in the company, and meeting the people I'm going to be working with. I'm looking forward to the future with the company whether it's a steppingstone or a career.

Cons

The only Cons I've discovered so far is they have days no one is allowed to take off and the attendance policy is extremely strict compared to other companies I have worked for in the past. The company computers you have to complete your training on are a nightmare. In my orientation they shared 3 different examples when they had to fire people and that doesn't really make you feel like a valued employee.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
