Too many people in positions they shouldn’t be in. - Asset Protection Investigator Walmart Employee Review

Pros

Highest hourly pay scale. It’s nice for a steady and exact “off time” schedule (aside from the holidays which could be hectic). Benefits were great compared to other places, most coworkers are nice and just trying to help/ do their job. Being able to advance your pay before your first official paycheck was pretty nice.

Cons

Specifically for API’s, having too many people you report to. You’re under the microscope from your coach, store manager, and market AP manager. Not a good feeling. Sometimes they’re very quota oriented… “if you don’t have x amount of stops, you’ll be coached (wrote up)”. Often times, you’re overlooked for promotion due to transfer/ promotion policies. Especially AP. There’s no reason we should have a brand new AP coach that promoted from a MF fresh. Having to “teach” new coaches as a regular hourly associate is dumb; at least pay us more if you’re expecting us to show them the ropes. Furthermore, if a coach “has your back” on being absent for a sick relative, I’d expect them to follow through and not let their associate point out.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
