Pros

Benefits were excellent. Base salary was 20k + decent commission.

Cons

The culture in the car sales department is in stark contrast to the rental car side. * Whatever 'values' or ethics the company claims to have (and actually enforces in their other departments), simply is not the case in their car sales department. If you have a weak stomach for unethical practices, this is not the place for you. If you question your manager about something remotely involving ethics, you will be told that it is "not your job" to question whether or not something is ethical. That your job is to "sell" and it is your managers job to worry about "ethics." * Unlike much of Enterprise, the managers here do not motivate with rewards. You get paid commission, sure, but day to day, they use negative reinforcement to motivate you to sell. Any time you fail to make a sale, you will be sat down and your manager will explain to you why you failed and how you need to change to succeed. You don't get to explain what happened. Whether they were there or not, the manager will explain to you what he thinks happened. This is seldomly helpful and just serves to demoralize you as you aren't actually learning very much from failed sales. Anytime you fail to set up an appointment with one of their credit union leads, the same thing. Most of your coworkers are treated similarly and will simply advise you to keep your head down and tolerate it. * In the rental dept. it was pretty common for co-workers to go out for drinks or food after work like once a week. Occasionally Enterprise would even pay for a happy hour. That doesn't happen at all with car sales. The employees don't hang out after work or anything. Very different from the rental side of the company. * Unlike the rest of the company, you can not transfer to another dept. You can either succeed and get promoted to finance or you can leave. There are no other options.

Pros

+ Not the worst pay (But also a con) + Nice Coworkers/ friendly company environment + You get to travel around/drive/be on your feet a lot if you like that + Good benefits + Hour lunch + Lots of different avenues to pursue as far as promotions/career advancement go (there's a catch--)

Cons

+ As anyone will tell you, these hours are NO JOKE. They don't seem that bad at first but you pretty much end up getting home so tired you have enough time to eat, take a shower (which you will want to after washing a bunch of cars), and go to sleep to wake up for the next day. They SAY a "maximum" of 50 hours a week but be prepared to do 55-60. +The annual pay looks really nice but make sure to consider youre working an extra 3-4 days more than most full time workers per pay period. + Working weekends can suck if you don't like that, but theyre only half shifts (6hrs) assuming they don't try to make you stay back later (I've had to work a full 10 hour shift on a weekend before). You don't get lunch breaks these days. + Takes a long time to get qualified to interview for promotions, qualification is mostly dependent on your sales as well which can be unpredictable + Hard to come by promotions if you can't move/relocate easily + Cleaning cars in professional clothing gets expensive + Customer Service is everything and sometimes that means youre under the bus/

Pros

Decent Pay Team Leads are salary so they're available whenever you need them Call volume is getting better but is still usually atrocious Internal career site provides opportunities, but very few agents qualify

Cons

No sick days; don't fall ill Back to Back call pace; expect to talk for the entire shift with no rest Constant Changes to Policy; Relearn your job every six months Changes to Commission Rates; Unsteady pay Dishonest Management; Prepare to be lied to about anything until/unless it's announced in an email Designed to Fail; Most of the metrics are not designed for you to be successful, especially on shifts after customer service has closed so customers call you. Schedule Adherence specifically punishes you for things out of your control, and is the reason why at least one employee on my team every other month has lost their job since I got hired.
