Pros

The starting pay is pretty good and you get to work from home which can be a luxury.

Cons

Working from home soon turns into a nightmare. Every technical issure you have with your computer is watched over by management and very little of it is excused unless they finally admit that it might be a problem on their end. You start to feel trapped in your own home and you gain weight quickly, even quicker if this job depresses you and alot of times it will. You are constantly lying to customers to get them to make a reservation and get this, the reservation you make for them may not even be valid because once they get to the location they dont have cars for the customer. As a res agent you are the first person the customer talks to so if they are angry you better find a way to make it up to them first or they take a survey on you and you could get fired if 26% of your surveys are bad. Speaking of the surveys they are totally not in your favor. They just ask a one word question like were you satisfied? and they can answer on a sliding scale of 1-5. 5 being the highest. If you receive anything but a five it counts against you like a zero. So a customer could say hey im not happy because your sold out of cars or i cant use a debit card and take the survey and thats your fault. There is no way for you to defend against that. The metrics you have to meet are insanely difficult and I was even told by a former trainer that it was considered a fluke if you bonus or get a raise. So in essence you have to find a way to cheat the system in order to bonus or even just make it because they are always implying you could get fired or disciplined, Have you ever heard that song "Shiny Happy People" by R.E.M. where you know hes being totally sarcastic about being happy all the time well this is what management wants you to be, super happy all the time theres no room for anything else and if it shows in your tone you get talked to about it. Sometimes I wonder if this is a cult like enviroment because they expect you to conform to whatever they say and be just like them. Often managers will talk down to you like your stupid but in a happy friendly way and as they are going over your calls with you they split hairs about everything you can never have a truly perfect or happy call. Also it doesnt help that customers will try and berate you every chance they get because they know theres that survey just around the corner so you better magically make cars appear at 5.00 dollars per day or get your head put on the chopping block. In the end the call center portion of enterprise could really care less about their employees and they sell you a dream, unfortunately before you know it it turns into a nightmare...

Pros

Working from home, no commute

Cons

Incompetent management. The metrics for bonusing and pay increases are difficult to obtain. The company pretends to put "customer satisfaction first" but your told to make reservations for people knowing that there are NO cars available! Then have the nerve to have the number of reservations actually picked up be part of your metric! So your making reservations that people cant get and in order to get more money they have to get it.. GTFOH! The system is awful! Constantly logging in and out for different locations. No efficient way to contact people in the actual branches to verify cars are available, which you have to call quite often but they don't want you to call out and place that in your metrics as well. The company is just backwards and very poorly run!

Pros

1. you'll always have a job..but...see cons 2. plenty of opportunity to move up to manager..but...see cons 3. If you perform well there are events to recognize you...but...see cons 4. salaried...but... i would only recommend this job to ppl who just need a paycheck...but have a plan B

Cons

1. - if you follow what your managers, area managers tell you to do...oh and stay above the Matrix "Bar". 2. -.Mainly because everyone keeps quitting and no one wants their manager's 60-70hr responsibilities 3. - In 12mths I earned top 3 status awards....only the first lunch was good, the second was stale cold pasta..the 3rd i didn't even get because I was out on workers comp from getting hit & injured (another con of the job is driving everywhere) ...they didn't even mail my award...or get well basket for that matter... 4. - Low salary from trainee to manager, however when you become a manager you get commission...so now is the added ridiculous amount of pressure your mgr is putting on you to sell a bunch of additional insurance, up-sell to bigger cars, gas, roadside service etc to customers.. .and the clients are shocked as to why their $29.99/day car bill for the 2-day weekend is near $300...most of their money is not from car rental but from addtl sales tactics...creates unethical competition and ppl find ways to manipulate sales...coworkers smile in your face but will steal your customer who they know is loaded and will BUY everything -No work life balance - only 1 day off, 2 occasionally, average week 45-50, holidays 50-60 no bonuses for achieving sales goals, only managers get bonus also- lots of jobs are in the retail branch but if you want a cushion office corporate job...you can forget about it! it will take 5-10 yrs for those positions to open up there are many other cons but Im getting upset just writing the few I listed so in a nut shell the car injury and LACK of any concern for my well being...NO ONE from my branch contacted me to see how I was doing, IF I was even OK...that was the last straw...
