Pros

Great pay, fairly easy work. Software developers can always choose to have their own office. Very little supervision for those who like to just chug away at code all day.

Cons

Not a very good support system, I had trouble getting in contact with anyone who knew how certain modules were supposed to work, often bug reports are ambiguous. Training is too long and broad for what you'll be working on when you first start. Most of what you use there will be skills that can be utilized in a future job search. Huge corporate environment, lots of paperwork and very little actual development.

Pros

Epic provides a very high salary in an area with a low cost of living. There's a small amount of travel but you can use it to see new places and it's flexible. Benefits are very nice. The Verona campus is very pretty, and there's support for after-hours personal interest clubs.

Cons

Management doesn't care about the employees. There's a lot of projects with no clear direction and a vague goal that developers are expected to turn into a finished product with little to no assistance. Overtime without pay is expected by the company; expect to be reprimanded if you work less than 45 hours a week and you'll frequently go past 50 or 60.

Pros

- Good Food - Good Pay (6 digits to start with) - Beautiful Campus - Domain is good and has a genuine mission - Deveopers get to manage their on project which ic both good/bad - gets to travel occarionaly which great - 5 year sabattical

Cons

I had given a 5 star rating after 5 months of working here. But after 1 year and 10 months my views have changed badly. The codebase literally sucks. You have to maneuver around large chunks of badly written. IAny attempts to write cleaner well factored code might be looked down upon. I had a 10+ year experienced eveloper literally rewrite my function to the way he wants (single large chunk of code) in code review. - You spent 10 mins of time writing code, you need to perform 2 hours of testing. The code is so inter related and can break any time resulting in QANs. A small company wide initiative would go a long way into making cleaner code. - Bad Leave policies. - not much scope of growth. Rather not transparent. too much rests in the hands of your TL. - you dont know what you are rated on . - dont expect 40 hr job. You will end up spending 60 or more hours most weeks - They have developed some very complicated processes over the years. - Its hard to get a development out of the doors.
