Pros

- Office that gets shared with another person - Food is half subsidized (not as good as Google)

Cons

- Project manager position at Epic doesn't transfer well to other careers, especially outside of healthcare; not too many companies know of Epic, and don't really care for it. - High turnover rate - Management mistreats their low and mid level employees - Lack of corporate social responsibility - CEO is a control freak and ultra conservative with money - Unethical HR policies and employee treatment (social and emotional blackmailing is encouraged by management to get employees to quit or do as they want)

Pros

- Free training (although the training does not prepare you for the ins and outs of the actual job) - A chance to have a lot of responsibilities as a recent grad - Somewhat flexible schedule - The knowledge you need to do well is available if you're willing to spend a lot of your free time and sacrifice a work life balance to become great at your job. - Staff meetings are pretty cool. (Free popcorn!) - Great pay - There are career advancement opportunities outside of Epic if you want to get into consulting

Cons

- There is no real management structure and your experience will vary greatly based on your manager, who likely has no previous management experience - You are expected to gain technical knowledge quickly no matter what your background - 50-65 hour weeks - Constant pressure to take on more tasks and the peppy corporate culture will make you feel abnormal for feeling overworked. - Living in Madison can be a huge change depending on where you are from, so make sure that you will enjoy living here.

Significant commitment to travel. Very busy weeks with little time to finish everything unless you put in time on the weekends.
