Pros

- great learning experience, especially as a first job - high impact and work in the industry - generally knowledgeable, passionate & helpful coworkers - fun campus - great opportunity to interact with c-levels and with various teams - learn a lot about the industry - good food at reasonable prices

Cons

- generally poor management - experience highly impacted by your TLs and TLs are not consistent - lack of trust, appreciation, care for employees - can be very high stress and you see lots of burn out - out of touch management and stubborn management tends to gaslight employees and does not listen - you won’t get much experience with industry tools (most tools are home-grown) - for a lot of people, they have not had any other job, so, you don’t get great insight into what things are like “outside” - you become accustomed to what you see at Epic and assume it’s normal - a lot of it is NOT normal/standard - “culture” can be toxic - lots of time waste in meetings - extreme "client is always right mentality” is harmful - subpar vacation/PTO - pushy about weird things that don’t matter much
