Pros

Epic is a great place to work. Very casual in formality, but professional in quality of work. The workplaces are great (everyone gets an office or shares with only one person) and the food is fantastic.

Cons

It seems the company as it grows is becoming more and more bureaucratic. There is heavy pressure to keep things more or less the same, and it seems slow to make any sort of dramatic change. The workload can also turn very intense, very quickly.

Pros

you learn as quickly as possible and the training program is unparrelled. There is always a ton of work to do and you can volunteer for projects across the company. You learn a bunch about the healthcare industry that tranlates well to other jobs. great salary and bonuses

Cons

50+ hour work weeks for implementation folks plus more travel time. You travel almost every week after about 2 years. You get internal work thrown into the mix which means lots of competing priorities. You are never home, which is partly a pro because madison, WI in the winter is brutal. Your boss is going to be maybe 1 year more experienced than you. This can be a great situation but more likely terrible.
