Pros

Amazing opportunities that would rarely be offered elsewhere to recent college grads. You can lead your own team of analysts, develop new processes, impact the software, and meet incredibly successful and interesting customers. Great team work community and support--if you ask for it. You need to be able to push yourself to learn, deal with ambiguity and recognize when you need to ask for help and support.

Cons

Unfortunately, many of the opportunities are based on your boss (team lead) and what he/she thinks of you. If you don't have a strong relationship with your TL and the other TLs in your application, it can hinder your growth and your opportunities to work on the projects you are interested in. Often times, you can be great at your customer work, but have low visibility internally which leads to less promotions.

Pros

- Learn a ton by working in the fast expanding healthcare IT sector - Work on interesting projects - Opportunities to interact with other teams to share your ideas

Cons

- Madison is too small for young employees in 20s-30s to have a good social life and work balance - Horribly underpaid as Software QA and for the amount of hours worked per week - Standard of living in Madison does not compensate for how underpaid the position is

Pros

Fellow employees at Epic are generally bright and kind. The company has a self-critical culture and avoids unnecessary bureaucracy.

Cons

Your workload is sometimes overwhelming, which means you either need to work long hours or fail. Either way you are not happy. They barely support continuing education so if you start in technical services it is unlikely you can progress to business intelligence or development .
