Pros

- Unfounded earning potential as a new grad with minimal previous experience - Training curriculum/track is well developed - Low cost of living + 100k by end of year 1 + Epic spouse + Epic stock + Lifer mentality = American dream made possible in 2025 (house, lake house, kids, Chevy suburban)

Cons

- Experience is highly dependent on your first TL and AM. - Move to AM + juggling multiple project weeds out a lot of people - Penalizes you with small raises once you go Boost - Conform to the culture or get out - Too much proprietary tools/frameworks. Marketing it out is difficult - Non compete if done by a market dominator like Epic is indeed enforceable.

Pros

Epic is a company that has lots of fringe benefits and conveniences. * The culinary team is amazing! * Showers all over campus - it's easy to make the decision to bike. * Private offices = personal space * Colleagues are welcoming and supportive!

Cons

Despite Epic's benefits the company takes a toll on you: * Unrealistically high quantity of work expectations. * Contradictory messages of collaboration, independence, ownership, and independence. * Pay is a black box and the upper management ladder intentionally denies the disclosure of personal rating/pay details. * The CEO believes "work life integration" is key to success. * Pushing generative AI to be incorporated into daily work. * Position and/or team transfers will only be approved if you're "meeting expectations" even if the reason behind asking is based on a potential better fit.
