Pros

The focus of the company on improving healthcare through developing & implementing the best software possible makes it easy to see the positive impact of your daily contributions. There's a lot of freedom to drive your own work and focus, especially after building competencies in the first few years.

Cons

10 days of vacation for first 2 years, 15 days of vacation after that. There can be sustained periods of very long hours, you have to figure out how and when to ask for help.

Pros

Everyone you work with is intelligent, hard working, driven individuals. The campus and food is AMAZING! Great benefits. Awesome pay for those fresh out of college with no work experience.

Cons

Long hours, constantly pushing for a harder workload, and long travel periods. This leads to a significantly high burnout rate. Epic uses a 40 year old software, MUMPS. It is very difficult to find a current job that isn't looking for JAVA or C++ developers. That means ones developing experience isn't useful outside of Epic. That said, your Project Management and Business Analyst experience looks great on your next resume.
