Pros

The best thing about Epic is the ability to work on projects you are passionate about. You are pushed to excel and for those that thrive on that this is a great place to work. The people you work with are incredibly smart, positive, and always willing to lend a hand.

Cons

Sometimes the hours can be intense and there are some people who like to micromanage you but once you prove that you can get the job done, those micromanagers ease up a bit.

Pros

- The people. Epic hires intelligent, motivated individuals who are always willing to lend a hand. From day one, I've felt comfortable with my coworkers. The work environment is extremely collegial - The opportunities to contribute. As you prove to be proficient in your core work, you get the opportunity to take on bigger, more impactful projects. Even as a recent college graduate, I was able to contribute in a meaningful to the success of my team, product and the company at large within the first couple of months of work. - It matters. I've had a chance to contribute to projects that add functionality to our software, improve efficiency for other employees, facilitate executive communication and much more. This would be awesome at any company. The fact that the software we develop and support contributes to better medical care makes it that much more rewarding. - The variety. As you can probably tell from my previous points, I've been afforded the opportunity to work on a lot of different projects and with many very bright people. I can't remember the last time I've been "bored" at work.

Cons

- The variety. You can get lots of varied requests from all kinds of different people. It takes a lot of focus to make sure that you don't get overwhelmed. Additionally, you are expected to largely prioritize your own work. It's definitely nice to be trusted, but can be a bit overwhelming at times. - Role envy. I'm not sure what it is, but i feel like most people I know feel like some other role is the only role leadership focuses on. Technical Services feels like execs only focus on Implementation/installing customers. Implementation staff feel like leadership only focuses on R&D. Developers feel like they are bossed around by Implementation and Tech Services (largely because they bring requests from customers).
