Pros

I work with brilliant co-workers and and don't have to deal with a lot of politics. We have the opportunity for autonomy and to do meaningful work - I know that I'm improving healthcare and actually helping people and patients every day. It's an atmosphere where we are constantly raising our own bar and nearly everyone rises to the challenge. Generally, people work a lot and work hard because they care. A lot of times, I'll be sitting in a meeting, and look around and think "holy @#$. There are a lot of smart people in this room." I can say with complete confidence that I'm surrounded by the type of people I want to work with.

Cons

It's hard for many new moms to return to Epic. There isn't onsite daycare, and there are not permanent part-time options. For that reason, a number of people end up leaving to either find part-time work or to stay at home with little ones. Others leave to be closer to friends or family who are located elsewhere, since everyone needs to be centrally located in Verona.

Pros

Sense of purpose Incredible co-workers Interesting, challenging work with a variety of tasks, mix of technical and non-technical work Quick and plentiful opportunities for growth (company is doing great, growing fast) Strong Management (especially Sr. management) International Sabbatical program Beautiful campus Great pay and benefits

Cons

Occasionally long hours and sometimes stressful. This is a result of working in healthcare related IT and really caring about it getting it right.

Pros

Doing something with an impact - improving healthcare for the masses. Independence - I decide what to work on and when. Smart people. Great pay, benefits and campus. Stable and growing, in spite of the economy. Overall a cool place, doing cool stuff.

Cons

The responsibility can be stressful. Winters here get pretty darn cold. Have worked some longer weeks. Avg 45-50/wk for me. Could use more positive feedback.
