Pros

The company's goals (provide good customer service, improve health care) are easy to get behind; they're generally acknowledged as the best in the health IT field; the pay is competitive; the atmosphere is casual; they seem to (or at least intend to) hire based on ability rather than quantity of resume buzzwords

Cons

You aren't likely to acquire trendy skills while working here - though some people do do web/mobile development; depending on your team (and/or customer, if you're in a customer-facing role), you might work long hours (I don't, and that obviously affects the rating I'm giving); the company has a rather controversial reputation, due to a number of rather outspoken former employees and competitors, and you'll frequently be asked about your job

Pros

Made software that will help doctors do their job better Learned Mobile Development Epic has a really cool campus (the food is awesome!) Had my own office (yah...with a door and a huge whiteboard) Was largely responsible for myself. Got my work done and people didn't question how I spent my time (lots of freedom in your own office) Beautiful Campus Epic is doing something really great for healthcare My Boss and his boss (also my boss) were/are great

Cons

Epic 360 (they had us sit in on a lot of of new hire classes). Some of them were awesome like the tech-talks. But there was this week of Epic 360. It was like half day classes where they taught us about how people use their healthcare software. It was not detailed enough to be all that useful, but then it was detailed to the point of taking a weeks worth of classes. Most interns agree it was a huge waste. I admit, I ended up sleeping through a lot of it. The work can get overwhelming. It's pretty much: get as much done as you can get done. Which, when you're an overachiever, can be really taxing. You feel like you're never working hard enough, but you're actually working harder than you're used to.
