Pros

Good salary in mid-west US. Very good health insurance. Beautiful campus. Individual offices. Good work-life balance, overwork occasionally.

Cons

Not as many vacation or holiday days compared to other technical companies. Out-of-dated techniques used.

Pros

Cheap cost of living in Madison (though you get what you pay for...) and the salary is pretty good.

Cons

You're not allowed to take vacation days for the first 6 months you work there. After that, you only get 10 days per year, with only 6 paid holidays. They overwork you, and make it their mission your first two years to try to "make or break" you -- which results in most people quitting before 2 years. Also, because the technologies they use are so niche, you'll have trouble building skills that will translate into roles at other companies.

Pros

Good salary. Nice perks including sabbatical, stock appreciation rights. Competent coworkers.

Cons

Old technology. The recent transition to web platform seems to be rocky.
