Pros

The campus is gorgeous, the dining halls are fantastic, the work is challenging and rewarding. Customer contacts become very good personal friends for many people. There is a great sense of community throughout the company. Generally, it is a great, enjoyable, but highly demanding place to work.

Cons

Each employee has a very different experience with the actual day-to-day work they need to accomplish - how enjoyable the job is is a gamble for each person. Some people have easy and friendly group of customer contacts, and they are assigned to a team lead (manager) that understands the human element of the work. Other people are unlucky and get placed with an inconsiderate team lead and have tough customers that are impatient on solutions. One employee's experience is entirely based on certain qualities/dynamics of the circumstances they are assigned to. Also, it is very much a "sink or swim" environment, in which there is a lot of training but hardly any of it reflects the daily troubleshooting aspects of the job.

Pros

Almost everything at Epic is what you make of it - from your daily schedule to what projects you want to get involved with. You're surrounded with like-minded people that are always willing to help. And the food is amazing!!

Cons

It's definitely true that good things take time. Some weeks I'll put in 50+ hours. But other weeks it'll be closer to 40. Most weeks it's between 40-50.

Pros

You get asked every day to fix things and make things better. The problems are challenging to address, requiring both creativity and technical expertise, but rewarding when solved. You also have the chance to take on management work within your first year if you perform highly.

Cons

You will get frustrated working within healthcare. It's far from an efficient industry.
