Strong Company but Annual Layoffs are Brutal

Pros

The company itself is very strong worldwide, even against growing competition. It has an extremely technical workforce with a fair work environment. Benefits are extremely good.

Cons

The US branch of the company mandates annual layoffs of 10% or more for every department. There have been many extremely good people let go for no reason just to meet this number; they certainly were not laid off due to performance. Mandating that you eliminate 10% of your highly experience workforce year over year is disastrous, and the impacts are already being seen internally, yet the practice continues.

The company gives good opportunities to in a variety of fields. There is scope for growth working in Ericsson. The learning curve is good and provides you opportunities to work in various phases as well as various technologies.

Cons

The upper level management does inform the employees of the current situation and the policies decided by the company. The work load leaves very little time for personal work.
