Pros

Pays shamefully well for the public sector, high status, interesting and important work.

Cons

A lot of disengaged and overpaid colleagues, lack of career mobility, dysfunctional and very old-fashioned organisation. Extremely white and middle-class, and not enough focus on diversity, equity and inclusion, especially not beyond gender.
