      You get a lot of responsibility, especially if you work on legislation. This means you'd be negotiating legal texts with the Member States and the Parliament. The pay is decent as you don't have to pay Belgian income taxes.

      Cons

      The progression through the hierarchy is rather slow and unpredictable.
