Pros

Opportunity is plentiful at Expedia, you can make your path if you have the patience and ambition.

Cons

Little communication, management seems to look at their teams to take fault in lack of direction. Zero trust, once you have been with the company for some time you realyze that teams have thier own agenda and don't trust other teams from having other sit over your shoulder and take off with your work and put thier name on it. no team work, lack of vision of the "team" winning and focuses on individual successes. On the positive, you do have a few that attempt, but then back tot he negative they burn out and move on.

Pros

Fixing travel online is a really big problem. Great people. The work is always challenging. Fun projects, and an emphasis on travel makes it great. Free drinks!

Cons

Expedia has had growing pains transitioning to a larger company. Organizing, prioritizing work, and executing are all a crapshoot. Lots of variance between teams. There are several young managers who don't know what they are doing. MSFT meeting culture has gotten out of hand.

Pros

Expedia seems competitive with the market in terms of salary and benefits. They do support a work life balance there. There are a lot of smart people at Expedia, and I've enjoyed my interactions with most coworkers. People are pretty professional and friendly.

Cons

There is entirely too much organizational change at Expedia, especially on the Technology side. The frequent change in management team and vision prevents ICs and managers from forming any cohesive roadmap or delivering any believable message in terms of company direction. There is a lot of inefficiencies, cancelled projects, and attrition as a result.
