Pros
Few industries are more glamorous than travel. It can be fun and you can take pride in working for the leader in online travel. When you tell people where you work they always sing "dot com!" and usually start telling you about how they always use Expedia when they book a trip.
Cons
Don't expect much in the way of travel discounts. Friends will assume that you get great travel deals that just isn't the case since Expedia doesn't actually own the products it sells (hotel rooms, flights, rental cars, etc.). Also I have consistantly heard that internal applicants are lowballed on their new salaries when they get promoted. I haven't heard that from one or two people. At least 6 I'd say. That is very disheartening.
