Pros

Dynamic company that is growing. Probably the best in its sector. It acquires small, innovative companies that are doing really interesting things.

Cons

Not particularly well diversified. A long term slide in travel will eventually hurt Expedia.

Pros

The culture is more laid back and relaxed. You have a chance at high visibility because it isn't that large a company. Moreover, collaboration is encouraged so you have the chance to work with many different technology and business teams in the company. The weekly 1:1 with your manager is important because they will actually talk about career growth if you are interested. There are some travel perks (not as many as people would expect) so it is great when you can use them. You feel fortunate that you work at a brand name company because your friends and strangers always have a comment about their travel experience and want to discuss it with you. It's nice to know that your daily work actually has an impact on customers.

Cons

Since Expedia went public and has matured, new processes were added were probably necessary but sometimes feel cumbersome, which amounts to frustration as they curb your efficiency. Since some of the tools/technology are a little outdated so you do not necessarily feel as if you are the most productive.

Pros

Expedia is far and away the most supportive of a work/life balance out of all of my friends' employers. When I have been upset, my managers have gone to bat for me. When I need to say something to upper management or people in distant organizations, I am empowered to do so. When I have wanted time off, I have been granted it. When I have asked for projects fitting certain criteria, I have been given them. When I have considered leaving, or been given offers elsewhere, my managers have asked me to stay and have worked with me to ensure my happiness. We work in a space that is interesting and relevant to me, in a company that isn't as huge as MS, Yahoo, Google, etc, but is not victim to the risks or lack of resources that a startup experiences.

Cons

All companies have issues. It seems like there are some vocal people who are disaffected with the spirit, pay, freedom, and support in the company, but I suspect they won't find much better elsewhere. Personally, I find the commute to the new space in downtown Bellevue unappealing, I know the benefits at Microsoft are much better, and the constantly rotating senior management is pretty irritating.
