Pros

It's all about presentation. They succeeded at renting out a moderate-fashionable unit in Bloomingdale, IL. The physical office looks neat and tidy, the recruiters succeed at giving encouraging presentations and they handle their selves quite well. This specific agency is only decent in the presentation department. Anything beyond that..... erm, just check out the "cons" section. :)

Cons

I worked three jobs with this agency and went through a good stretch of BS with them. Regardless that I am a natural born American with many resourceful skills that could be used in a professional environment, I was always the unfortunate one that took on jobs that (most likely) not even the recruiters would ever commit to. What is it that I currently do? I lift disassembled furniture (boxes weighing between fifty to 150+ pounds) throughout an eight hour period five days per week for only $9.50/hr. Sounds ideal, right? So I was given a description of my job before commuting to it. Like they say; you never know unless you try! At the pace I'm expected to move at with the weight I'm expected to handle, both goes beyond my physical capability from a scientific approach (cardiovascular as well as strength). I know I am a temp worker but that does not mean I'm uneducated. The racial terms, the vulgar language and the background music (played by others while on the clock) of illegal drug use doesn't help to create a positive interpretation. The agency specifically informed me that they favor people that prove that they are committed (maybe not the precise terminology but it implies the same thing that was said) and because of that I am refraining from backing out from the assignment. My monthly car payment, insurance, phone bill, food to eat, etc. makes me accept jobs that forces me to stoop to a low level. Which is quite sad. Express Employment, for months, made false remarks to me prior to committing to this current low-end/low-paying job. In April I filled a request for another low-end factory job as a machine operator. Only made $10/hour. I was told it was a long term job and I could work my way up within a short time and make as much as $12/hour which was a false statement. After the first day I was told that they had enough people and that no additional team members were needed. I began calling Express back in June and for two months they said they would call me back later in the day. Just to find out that days would go by without every receiving a call back for an assignment. I did my duty of calling in every several days and they failed to inform me of open positions or even return a simple phone call back for later that day. I didn't get this low-end job until I ranted to a recruiter about this issue which says a lot about this agency. I know there are desperate people out there that are willing to victimize their selves for an income. Which is quite sad considering how they're being taken advantage of. Just because it's a business and just because they protect their selves through layer of pages of TOS doesn't mean they solely act from goodwill or consideration. These recruiters are all about business. It's about them making top buck and they make dat income~! through YOU!
