Cons

Refused the sexual advances from one of senior management and a week later a fabricated complaint led to dismissal! Was forced to attended fortnightly stock takes on a Saturday night because of shrinkage which was caused by warehouse/delivery mistakes and shoplifting. There were no cctv systems and the company would not invest in a security guard and demanded the higher priced goods to be right by the door. As a female was often threatened by shop lifters whilst my manager looked on! Training was non existent and was expected to work extra hours for free!

Pros

Some of your colleagues can be great. I really cannot think of anything else. They do have a good uniform.

Cons

Nepotism, bullying, lies, deceit, low pay, favouritism, excessive workload, not enough staff, antiquated computers, processes and equipment, no security, both safety security type security and job security; stock takes that are excessive and simply not necessary. And much more. No weekend rate or overtime rate. Managers that lie and bully those they do not like. Staff turnover is terrible so don't become attached to anyone you like. You can be forced to work in different stores way out of your way at little notice. Horrible, entitled customers.

The 15% staff discount is effective as soon as hired, I had very nice colleagues but that depends on location.

Cons

Long hours, heavy lifting, upper management not understanding, it's underpaid for the amount of work, roughly a classic brainless retail work.
