Pros

They pay for your licensing training and pay you a decent starting salary. 7% 401k match after the first year and 10% profit sharing on your second year.

Cons

This is where your dreams go to die. You answer phone calls all day long 24/7. You feel like a robot with going over the same questions over and over again. Even at the prestigious higher roles you are still only offering two cookie cutter solutions PAS (Portfolio Advisory Service) and Life Cycle Funds both of which have mediocre performance. As a Financial Solutions Rep we aren't even allowed to sell the product on performance. Why else would you hire someone to manage your money other than performance? The people that sell it don't even know what the performance is and its so hard to find you eventually give up. If you want to be paid a lot to be a robot selling mediocre products this a great place for you.

Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. Smart people to work with. A tier one fund company in Canada.

Cons

Long hours. Incompetent management at all levels. Half your time is spent playing politics just so you don't have a target on your back. It is not a meritocracy. You are promoted if you know how to play the political game.

Pros

excellent 401K matching - 9%

Cons

I was discharged after 3 weeks of employment because, as the Company told me, I had too much consumer debt (an auto loan and student loans). This had nothing to do with my performance and was none of their concern but you have to sign a release to work there. Creepy employer!
