Cons
Management disconnect (poor understanding) of the actual work their teams perform.... team managers are mainly responsible for administrative tasks to ensure teams continue to function! Many team managers lack the technical skills and professional certifications that many in their teams are required to possess. This leads to a very confined way of working and thinking about processes, problems, and solutions in the department as a whole. Plus the metrics used to assess employee / team performance are outdated.... based on production type of work environments (like sales call centers, manufacturing etc), and not suitable for a company operating in the financial services industry.
