Pros

Health insurance is pretty good

Cons

Fidelity is known for being a family oriented company; however that is changing. They are forcing people to come back to the office with no exceptions. This is uprooting people’s lives. Childcare will be needed more often and they do not help provide solutions for families. Productivity is the same remotely as it is in the office, if not higher. I asked if I could work in the office 3 days a week starting in September when 2 weeks a month is mandated and I was told that I need to be there all 5 days during my dynamic week. I would end up being in the office 2 days more a month (12 days a month vs 10) and it would significantly help with childcare but the answer so no. I’m disappointed, and hurt by this decision. Not only is everyone loosing time with their families, they will be loosing money with wear and tear on vehicles, gas, extra childcare, and purchasing enough business clothes for in office. It’s sad to see a company that used to care about their employees, no longer care.

Pros

There is no pro working for this company

Cons

*You can not transition from one team to another because you need your manager's approval which you can't get because of internal politics *You are given a task that is entirely different from what you are interviewed for *The pay is very low compared to the industry standards * Micromanagement and condescending behaviour from squad lead to team members *Overall it is a terrible place to work *There is no process for giving feedbacks *I regret taking the job

Pros

It pays well and the benefits are good.  There are women in leadership positions.  For tech people at least, fairly flexible.

Cons

Oh where to start.  I worked in Fidelity labs. The so called culture of "speaking frankly" and "taking risks" is 100% a lie.  You can speak as frankly as you want as long as you're saying what your manager wants to hear.   You cannot innovate.  My manager incorrectly considered himself an expert in the fields of every person on his team and never accepted any opposing views.   All the data scientists on my team quit.  No one reached out to us.  Nobody cared.  Take this warning seriously.
