Pros

- Will hire almost anyone who applies - Benefits are good - 401k match - Potential to get licensed, where you go after that is up to you

Cons

- Definitely a call center, anyone who tells you different is lying - Turnover rate is ridiculous, they hire 30 people a month to fill all the vacant roles - Only real incentive is monetary - Monitored on every call and if you don't have a high enough calls per hour you get in trouble - You do not learn any real transferable skills, unless you go to another call center - If you think you will switch roles quickly so you are not on the phones, expect to do a minimum of two years answering phones for 8 hours a day - They tell you the customers are nice, but that is very far from the truth I would say roughly half are very rude

Pros

None that would out weigh the cons

Cons

It all begins with job satisfaction, people in general tend to do jobs they enjoy and are passionate about even if pay is lacking, but fidelity has clearly missed the mark. A volume based discount broker call center where even team leads (managers) are frustrated with leadership. Upper management is not there to help build a profitable successful environment but make sure numbers on spread sheet are met. 95% of the people I worked with actively are unhappy with their current job and only stay so they can get their 5 year vesting. I’m truthfully dumbfounded at the lack of communication with management down to reps. I’m disappointed to say I wasted so much time at the company and missed valuable opportunity actually being able to advise build relationships. This company the last two years had tried to put a square peg into a round hole and has lost a lot of talented people. This will continue to be the trend because Fidelity is slow pace when it comes to change. Culture there was absolutely horrible with people just struggling through daily life and I hope those who read this can take this as a warning! Unless you are absolutely desperate or doubt mind being an un valued easy replaceable cog in the Fidelity machine you can do so much better..

Pros

Tuition Reimbursement Match is good if you give 6+ years of service Good name on the resume

Cons

Once you get on the phones in the call center, thats all you will do. Don't think this position is your "foot in the door". You must give 3-5 years in this position answering calls (even with a masters in Economics) before you move to a non-call center job (I even head this from senior leadership). I know of one person who moved to a non call center related job - after working there for 7 years. Great people and I love the company, just stay away from anything call center related.
