Pros

- You get to work with extremely smart, visionary & inspiring leaders - Various training opportunities for technical or soft skill advancement, local & oversea (you will need to communicate ahead to your hiring manager) - Great career exposure and you get to work across multi regions, stakeholders, subject matter expert from all over the world (don't be shy to ask for new roles, new opportunities). The culture within GE is, if you don't ask for it, nothing will happen. Prove your value, be a good negotiator and you will be fine

Cons

- Pay is below the market for local hire talent. Low base for fresh graduate (probably due to large pool of applicants from top ranking universities and the HR can demand lower salary for fresh graduate) - Annual increment can be pathetic, ranges from 2-5% - Too many mid level managers don't perform but still stay within the company

Pros

Challenging work. New technologies being pursued. Benefits not too bad but I’ve seen companies with better. Product line is exciting to watch being built.

Cons

Horrible management. Very short sighted. Only looks out one quarter when making big cost-cutting decisions. GE lied when they said that they will have 20,000 women in technology roles by 2020. With men in the management positions, women are overlooked for promotions or the first one out the door when layoffs occur. I even heard a male manager say that he thinks that women don’t want to work. The culture is toxic.
