Pros

Great sales tools and training to help you sell. Access to very smart people. Good benefits.

Cons

The company adopted salesforce and is metric driven now. People are arbitrarily put on plans based on metrics that don't matter. If you have a manager that likes you, you're ok for the most part. They will put you on a PIP for metrics that you have no control over. If you hit the PIP, they will extend it and move the goal post until you quit or fail. If you're good or lucky, you'll be ok until they decide you're not. It's very much what have you done for me lately.

Poor leadership at Manager to Senior Director level

Pros

Work environment is good, because nothing much to learn. Even if you spend 10 years at Gartner India, you will not learn anything new. The office is located in a good area with decent amenities nearby (if that makes you happy to join Gartner). A few team members were genuinely helpful and collaborative.

Cons

Toxic Work Culture: Micromanagement is rampant. Leadership thrives on blame games, which kills morale and innovation. Managers, Directors and Senior Directors are mostly saving their own jobs, they don't care about their teams. Zero Work-Life Balance: Employees are expected to be available 24/7 (because office laptop provided, that's the main reason they give). Weekend work is normalized, and taking leaves is looked down upon. Poor Leadership: Management lacks vision, empathy, and professionalism. Decisions are often arbitrary and based on favoritism (often pretty girls and HR fake inputs taken) rather than merit. Lack of Career Growth: There are no structured development programs or clear career paths. Promotions are rare and largely based on internal politics. Unrealistic Expectations: KPIs keep shifting with little communication, and deadlines are often unreasonable. No Appreciation or Recognition: Even major accomplishments go unnoticed. Appreciation is reserved for a select few regardless of performance. High Turnover: Most talented people leave within a year, leading to instability and overburdening those who stay. Disrespect for Employee Well-being: Mental health support is non-existent. Feedback is dismissed or met with retaliation.
