      A good company with terrible management

      Pros

      The best part of the job is the clientele. Gartner has a large client base with many strong client relationships. The Gartner product is truly a useful, worthwhile investment for clients.

      Cons

      The major set-back to working here is management. Gartner's upper management, corporate culture, and service models are a complete disaster.

      Pros

      Great peers, extensive training on the art of selling, good benefits, beautiful location. Can be an amazing experience if you make it through training and get a manager who likes you and doesn't micro manage.

      Cons

      Don't be fooled by the recruiters. They say they hire only the best, but what they really mean is they temporarily hire a group of promising candidates and see which ones they can weed out. YOU CAN BE CUT DURING TRAINING. Our group lost almost a third of the "best people" They "hired" Which is strange since the recruitment process is so long. If you do make it past the 8 weeks of training, you will be metric-ed to death and "encouraged" to work well after normal operating hours. Work life balance is an absolute lie here until you survive at least a calendar year or are a favorite of your manager.

      Pros

      There are none, Gartner is the worst company I have worked for in 20 years. Gartner claim to be a lot of things, but in fact I'd say its all smoke and mirrors. if there is one good point, Id say there are some great people in the company, but I cant see it lasting for long - the churn rate is huge

      Cons

      Lack of clear strategy, lack of execution, treat staff poorly, poor senior management. The product is placed in the market to make the sales guys feel like 'snake oil' sales men. Consulting and EXP are the best services, but there is so much internal politics that they are being side lined.
