Pros

Large company often hiring for other positions, opportunities to relocate but without compensation. Arlington office has nice views and good food nearby. Moderate work life balance (though hostile toward working from home)

Cons

The least ethical company I have ever worked for. Regularly retaliated against employees for raising concerns, hired people for positions without telling them it wouldn’t exist in a few months, or hired people for one position then put them in another, and constant focus on hitting metrics regardless of outcomes for customers (which encouraged faking numbers to survive). Employee retention in the client service space was certainly less than 50% per year, nobody could stand to work there. It was well known that the floor’s wellness room was primarily used for people to cry in. Truly a horrible company, and one I wouldn’t even recommend to someone desperate for employment. If you value your mental health or human decency, look elsewhere.

It's not good

Pros

Your colleagues will be incredibly talented and dedicated people who truly care about doing their best to support Gartner clients.

Cons

Pay is low compared to what people can get elsewhere. Very poor raises, even for the highest performers, even when the company does very well. Every function is understaffed and overwhelmed. Analysts are extremely stressed. More than one has had to take time off due to exhaustion, particularly recently. Too many meaningless metrics to hit - everything is important. You will be called out for every minor slip in metrics. Morale in analyst ranks is very low, and attrition is rising. We give it our very best day after day, and the Company - upper management - doesn't seem to care in the least. All they care about is stock price.

Pros

Gartner has pockets of outstanding people, and the business I believe does mean well but the execution is questionable. Fair pay.

Cons

Gartner does not embrace diversity, nor does it allow for original thought. Everything is based off a best practice. Upper management hasn’t had much experience if any outside of Gartner and that doesn’t translate well. Gartner struggles to give sales the enablement tools they need to do their job. Attrition is unlike anything I have ever seen.
