Pros

I gained valuable experiences and appreciated the good pay and the enjoyable company trips. The work environment was positive, and I enjoyed working with my colleagues.

Cons

the constant changes within the organization were challenging and sometimes disruptive. As the years went by, it became harder to develop within the business, and the frequent changes made it difficult to always feel like an integral part of the company. Despite these challenges, my overall experience was positive, and I appreciate the opportunities I had during my tenure.

Pros

It's difficult to capture how many pro's this job had. Work life balance, kind people that care about the humans that they work with, a product that solves a real problem and helps people, a fun sale cycle that includes both long and shorter term deals. I loved my managers, my colleagues. I loved that we had a policy on working within hours, including agendas on meetings, pre-reads before team calls. This was a culture that fostered kindness, strategy, thoughtfulness, growth, success. All sustainably. It's easy for the good stuff to go out the window when things get hard. Glassdoor was a place where everyone walked the walk.

Cons

Pay could have been better. But I wasn't bad. The layoffs and merger into indeed - that's the big one. I think that this product is purposeful and powerful. I also think that this absorption was done in a foolish and non-strategic manner. My hope is that the product does not suffer, and thus the candidates do not suffer as a result. This should be a cautionary tale to any leadership, whose decision is to measure profit and ignore humanity. Laying people off as a sign of bad leadership.

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt reflection on your time at Glassdoor. Your words capture the very best of what we have worked to build: a culture of kindness, thoughtful collaboration, and a product with real purpose. It means so much to hear how supported you felt by your managers and colleagues, and how our focus on balance and intentional practices shaped your experience. At the same time, I know the layoffs and merger have been painful for many. Your reminder that leadership is measured not just by results but by how we care for our people is important for all of us as we navigate the future. Thank you for the impact you made here and for the care you’ve shown in sharing this feedback. Your contributions and perspective will always be part of Glassdoor’s story, and we wish you nothing but success in the next chapter of your career. - Owen Humphries | President, Glassdoor

Pros

The biggest positive working at Glassdoor was the people. I was fortunate to work with some extremely talented and passionate colleagues in GTM that truly cared about the company mission. Additionally, I had some truly supportive and empathetic managers throughout my experience that helped me grow my skills and find success.

Cons

Upper-Management would continually move the goal posts for our growth strategy, but the the directives were very surface-level and hyped up without any meaningful strategy. As we got closer to the recent lay-off/restructuring, it became an environment filled with micromanaging admin tasks and management punching down from the pressures they were undoubtedly receiving from the executive teams. Most (if not all) of the individual contributors could see the warning signs, but leadership became disengaged and unresponsive to our concerns as we approached the latest layoff event.
