Pros

Glassdoor uses the latest technology stack (Spring Boot and GraphQL) and definitely challenges the interns to work on real world scenarios. The learning curve is huge.

Cons

The location is remote. I would love to visit the office and meet my team.

Thanks for leaving a review! I'm glad to read your experience has been great overall. Our Mill Valley HQ gave us lots of amazing memories, but we're excited about the opportunities that a brand-new office space in the heart of San Francisco offers. If you haven't had the chance, I hope you'll stop in to see it! Regarding your feedback about career growth, I will pass your feedback along to our Career Development team, who are working to enhance and redesign how we think about long-term career growth at Glassdoor. - Mark Batke, Internal Employer Brand Manager

Pros

The culture! Love love love the culture and the people and genuinely love the work that we are doing here.

Cons

Days can be very long and the workload very draining. We have a partnership with Indeed that still has its growing pains. I find myself working very late hours and not having much (or all) of a work life balance. We have unlimited PTO but I’m very scared to use it. This is my first sales role where we have quarterly quotas and account changes and it’s very hard to build relationships and consistency with your accounts. Love the work I’m doing, but it’s very overwhelming and internal help/support is hard to find as we don’t have direct point of contacts for departments. There’s just a lot on our plates :(

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. I am so glad that you love the culture and the work you are doing at Glassdoor. Our work matters so much and is impacting the lives of others each and every day! Thank you for recognizing that and investing your valuable time and effort in support of our mission. I’m grateful for you, and I am sorry that you are feeling underappreciated, overwhelmed, and afraid to use your PTO. Please, use it! We do not want you to burn out. You are right, it has been a fast-paced and particularly demanding year. We are hiring and promoting more people than we have in recent times and as a result, encountered new challenges and a lot of change. The good news is that we are aware of many of the problems you face and are systematically working to tackle them. We have smart, dedicated cross-functional partners who work with us daily. They truly want to make our lives better by improving processes and making it easier to do our jobs. Though there are some aspects of our work (account transitions) that we can’t alter as much as others, we are working hard to make improvements to lessen the disruption. Thank you for highlighting the most concerning aspects of your work, it helps me prioritize. Finally, I appreciate your advice. We will continue to add headcount and have launched our new onboarding program to support our new hires. We’re rebuilding our training programs and will offer more in-person training so that you and your colleagues will have the opportunity to learn and grow together. We are absolutely sensitive to burnout, but I will ask my leaders to be on the lookout as you advised. Please know, that you’re welcome to reach out to me directly, valerie.roush@glassdoor.com if you need to talk. I am listening and value your opinion. If you have additional ideas about information transfer of accounts, please share them. We want to continually improve this process. --And finally, know that I am grateful for YOU and the hard work that you are doing each day. I will strive to acknowledge you and the sales team more. I know that I have not done enough. Thank you again for your candor. I’m glad you work on our Sales Team at Glassdoor. We are fortunate to have you. Val Roush, Interim Head of Sales
