Pros

Some nice colleagues met along the way.

Cons

After 2 years and a half in Vienna, I can say I have seen the very worst of what management can be: - run away from responsibilities. Accountability does not exist in Global Blue, unless of course if you are at the bottom of the food chain. - incompetent promoted. I have seen people promoted managers who couldn't even handle their own work properly , then why? And if you think about being promoted as manager, forget it if you are not Austrian and not a man, these are a unsaid requirement.. - No manager will enforce processes (when they exist). - No customer focus: the company is basically making money by giving money to its customers. Still, nothing serious has been done toward customers and the IT department is clearly focus on itself, not on the business, again because of incompetent managers. - the Global Blue management could win the European championship of "passing the bucket around", at least they are good at something! - completely ignore the non-performers: no matter how incompetent you are, there is no way you are getting fired at GB.

Pros

Nice office, multinational environment, gym They hire you very fast as long as you have all the skills, promise a lot of benefits, unlimited contract after three months

Cons

Super bad management, very poor communication from the managers towards employees, extremely bad communication from the company towards customers. Applications, systems, programs changing constatly, always always always technical issues which NEVER get resolved. Managers never listen to employees, repeat mistakes which could be easily fixed if listened to feedback from employees. Employees have no idea of the companys vision and future plans.Management changes often. Comunication not transparent. HR does not know of issues between managers and teams. Some people super unproffessional, usually those on higher posts, on the edge of mental abuse. Experienced managers being hired because of exisitng friendship not because of skills. Abusive communication between teams from different countries and different departments. Experiences over times not paid and targets so high nobody can reach them without going sick!

Pros

Free coffee, free water, foosball table, vendo machine

Cons

Global Blue looks like an exceptional company from the outside - very nice office, professional-looking employees, multi-national. But, once you get in, it immediately becomes evident why it has a low rating on this website. Here are the top reasons why I hate this company so much and why I would never recommend it to any of my friends: 1. Teams don't work together. They just blame each other. 2. Failed software development process 3. Silo mentality 4. Inconsiderate HR - they made me pay for Vacation Leaves I used during my 1 month notice period even though I still had annual leave credits during that time and that I filed those leaves months before I submitted my resignation. I know it's in the employee handbook, but that policy is very ambiguous and it's still discretionary which makes the HR inconsiderate! 5. Almost everyone I know was given permanent position except for me because my manager said so. When I appealed to him, he just asked me why I wanted to become a permanent employee so bad. Of course, because of stability! 6. I had a vacation leave that was cancelled months before the date due to lack of planning on the management's part. 7. There are some people who are happy when people are forced to go over time. 8. They don't care about their employees health - I know this because I was getting sick before and they still asked me to go over time. 9. I never got a salary increase. 10. So many retrenchment and changes in the management level and no clear direction for the company.
