Pros

Google Hires very smart people, who don't put others down to raise themselves up

Cons

Very HQ/in office culture, if you're not assigned to Mountain View, you tend to be an after thought

Pros

Google undoubtedly has the best compensation package and perks in the industry.

Cons

Those benefits start to wear off when there is such a pervasive lack of focus and leadership. I've witnessed a lot of climbers who care mostly about advancing in their careers / status while ignoring the job itself and pushing work on others. This has become pervasive in the culture to the point there is little transparency and almost room to do work I care about without sacrificing my wellbeing.
